Owner, Eventide Web Design, LLC
Mark's main interest has always been working on computers in some fashion. He greatly enjoys building Web sites and it is this passion that he brings to Eventide Web Design. Though he works on Eventide projects in the evenings and weekends, his great interest in Web design shows in his enthusiasm for the projects he undertakes and the quality of work he produces.
Mark has been working with computer hardware and software since the mid 80's and has been working in the Web development field both professionally and in his spare time since the mid 90's.
In 1997 Mark started work on a degree in Web Development at Thomas Nelson Community College in Hampton, VA. In September 2007 he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology, with a specialization in Web Applications Development from Capella University.
Since 2013, Mark has been employed at Healthland - a medical software company - in Glenwood, MN. There he works on maintaining clients' SQL Server databases and migrating from their previous system's database to Healthland's Centriq medical software suite.
Until April 2012 Mark was employed at US Internet Corporation in Minnetonka, MN where he was working on the development team for the Customer Relations Management software suite, SugarCRM. There he programmed using open-source technologies such as PHP and MySQL, and open-source tools like Eclipse/Aptana and MySQL Workbench. He worked on Mac OSX and Windows 7 machines for his workstations.
From April 2007 to December 2010 Mark was working for AgCode, Inc. in Glenwood, MN. There he was mainly responsible for developing data-based applications for handheld devices running the Windows Mobile operating system.
Prior to working at AgCode, Inc. Mark worked for the Department of the Army as a Web Applications Developer in Hampton, VA, and for the Department of Transportation/Maritime Administration as an engineering logistics specialist.
Mark served in the U.S. Navy from 1990 to 2000. His entire time in the Navy was served in Norfolk, VA. During his first six years he served on the destroyer USS Comte de Grasse as a Gas Turbine Systems Electrician and a department supply clerk. The remaining four years he spent working base security at the Armed Forces Staff College.
In his spare time Mark enjoys building wood model ships, watching movies, and reading, but he especially enjoys amateur astronomy.
